What is the Best of Forsyth Contest?

The Best of Forsyth is an annual voting contest presented by the Forsyth County News. It allows residents to choose their favorite local businesses from over three hundred different categories.  The contest consists of two phases: nominations and voting. During the entire month of September, nominations are open. Anyone can nominate any business they feel best represents the best that Forsyth County offers in that category. 

The top five nominees in each category then move on to the voting phase, which lasts from October 1 to October 31.  Finally, the winners are announced during the annual Best of Forsyth event, usually held in January or February of the following year. This year, the award winners were honored on January 30th at the Forsyth Conference Center.

Now in its 10th year, the prestigious Best of Forsyth contest is a remarkable celebration and endorsement of the local businesses that contribute to making the county an exceptional place to live, work, and play. It not only grants valuable recognition and feedback to the businesses but also offers them exposure and invaluable marketing opportunities.

In 2024, the competition has witnessed a remarkable surge in popularity and engagement, culminating in an astonishing 300,000 votes from over 20,000 voters.
